We did however sell Jason Varitek's shin guards last week.

E-Commerce Section 10 - the business plan.

E-Commerce Competition includes Steiner Sports, redsox connection, chowdaheadz, red sox team store, mlb, iron clad authentics, mounted memories and the baseball hall of fame.

The competitors; biggest weakness is their focus. their product offerings seek to be all things to all fans, Our focus remains the Red Sox and Fenway Park. Our competitors also offer no packaging and little branding or brand awareness.

Our motto 'For the Collector and the Fan' will k ellsball.jpgJacoby Ellsbury MLB authenticated signed baseball.

We signed on with Eastern Bank of Massacusetts. They have a free business checking account, great hours, convenient locations and a manager, Abby Nguyen who showed genuine interest in me and my company.

Business Plan - Fenway 1912: E-Commerce

Web ad words, Search Engine Optimization

A concerted effort will be made in the design of the site to appear coded for search engine algorithms. i.e., certain words will appear throughout the site so that search engines will pick up the terms for higher ranking. We will also be in the godaddy marketplace for sales and placement as well.

godaddy.pngWe will have a monthly newsletter. We do not need to make a concerted effort to acquire email addresses of those who are interested.

We will also be participating in online social marketing in sites like mlblogs, sawxheads.com, and Zimbio. Contributions to these sites will happen every 3 days. As the true colelctor (a hobbyist) is not the target market; marketing efforts will not involve the baseball catrd show blogs, shows or stores.

bat.jpgOnline auctions and a Clearance category will also be a way for fenway1912.com to liquidate some inventory.

Baseball Card Show

Attended a great baseball card and memorabilia show yesterday in Wilmington, MA. What a great show. I brought my son and we were able to see tons of great stuff. Eventhough we showed up at the end of a weekend show, it was great for us.

We were made quite welcome by all the dealers. My son was even given multiple free packs of cards and a Bruins Bear bobble head.

I even picked up some autographs of Red Sox legend Ted Lepcio.

Authenticity - Bogus Autographs

FHMObamaBaseball.jpgWhen buying sports memorabilia (game used or signed); verify an authenticator. A friend picked up this baseball from the Coach's Corner Auction. The siganture is an obvious forgery to all of us who know autographs and what to look for.

The Fenway Collection 1912 will only carry items authenticated by ourselves, Steiner Sports, PSA, Beckett, Elite, Sports Images and Major League Baseball. Buy from a reputable dealer and be careful.
